The Changi area is connected by Changi Airport MRT (CG2) on the Changi Airport Branch Line, Expo MRT (CG1/DT35) connecting to the Downtown Line and Tampines East MRT (DT33) nearby. Upper Changi MRT (DT34) also provides access for residents in the Upper Changi and Simei areas.

Head to the Ministry of Law’s Registry of Moneylenders to confirm any lender’s licence before borrowing. Changi is at the far eastern tip of Singapore, so lender offices may be located in nearby towns like Bedok, Tampines or Simei rather than within Changi itself. The Downtown Line and East-West Line connect these areas within 10 to 15 minutes and you can handle most application steps online before making the trip.
You’ll need your NRIC or passport for foreigners, proof of income like recent payslips or CPF statements and something confirming your address. If you’re a freelancer, airport ground crew on irregular contracts or running a small business out of Changi Village, lenders will usually accept bank statements or IRAS tax filings as income proof.
If you turn up with complete documents including NRIC, income proof, address verification most lenders can approve and disburse funds within a couple of hours sometimes faster.
Money gets transferred via cash or PayNow the same day. The biggest hold up is usually missing paperwork, so a few minutes of preparation saves a lot of waiting around.
The Ministry of Law sets combined limits across all licensed moneylenders. Earn under $20,000 a year and the cap is $1,500 in total. Earn $20,000 or above and it goes up to six times your monthly income.
These limits are cumulative which means any loans you already have outstanding with other lenders reduce what’s available to you.
